In the Fall of 2018, Ovarian Awareness of Kentucky (OAK) made a generous donation of $10,000 to the University of Kentucky Ovarian Cancer Screening Program.

Below is an excerpt from a letter written to OAK by John van Nagell, director of the UK Ovarian Cancer Screening Program.

Just a note to thank you and the members of OAK for your generous support of the University of Kentucky Ovarian Cancer Screening Program. We received your check in the amount of $10,000 yesterday, and are grateful. This support will allow more Kentucky women to receive screening. As you know, this program has provided free screening to over 46,000 Kentucky women from every county in the state. Importantly, the 5 and 10-year survival of women whose ovarian cancer was detected by screening is twice as high as that of women from the same geographical area who did not have screening.

Thank you again for your generous support and for everything that OAK does for women with ovarian cancer.
