Toast To Life

The Toast to Life annual survivors brunch was celebrated again at the Hurstbourne Country Club in Louisville and 20 GYN cancer survivors attended.  The special guest speaker was a researcher from University of Kentucky, Dr. Rachel Miller, and OAK donated $10,000 to the ovarian cancer screening program.  Survivors received special bags of gifts, flower bouquets and lots of hugs, support and inspiration. Donated spa gift cards were given out as door prizes for the survivors.

OAK Golf Scramble

OAK Golf Scramble is an annual event held at Polo Fields Golf Course.  The 14th annual event had 68 golfers participating along with volunteers and raised $6,500.

Whisper Walk

Whisper Walk is an annual event held in Douglass Hills with a large number of people walking to support women battling gynecological cancers.  The event was started in 2009 by Frank and Sean Edwards in memory of Dee Edwards. She was a beautiful young mom, a Science teacher at Crosby and she was very passionate about fundraising and being an advocate.  This year, the 10th Whisper Walk raised $4,000 to support OAK’s local programs.

Survivors Christmas Dinner

The Survivors Christmas dinner is an annual event to honor several ovarian cancer survivors as well as their loved ones, friends, and caretakers. 

A Slice of Life

A Slice of Life is an annual fundraising event held at The Kentucky Derby Museum which includes a silent auction and various vendors offering samples of food and beverages.  The 6th annual event in 2018 was attended by 65 participants along with vendors and volunteers raising $6,300 to support our mission.

Blue Hydrangea Tea

The Blue Hydrangea Tea is hosted by LaGrange Kentucky Main Street Program and downtown merchants every year.  More than twenty participating shops and businesses offer samples of special teas and treats with each business offering at least one door prize.  Participants receive a teacup of their choosing and a goodie bag with OAK information. The 11th annual tea in 2018 raised $4,900 to support our mission.
